Artists will go on a journey to travel through time and meet some of the masters from art history. They will be introduced to a new artist each day and spend the morning creating in that master’s style! We’ll paint like Kandinsky, create Calder-inspired mobiles, make self-portraits like Frida, create art that pops like Warhol, and take inspiration from Maya Angelou’s to produce images and poetry of our own!

A week of bold art, big ideas, and hands-on creation.

Join us for Mixed Media Mayhem--a high-energy, creativity-packed week where artists will paint, build, collage, design, and experiment with a wide variety of art materials and techniques.

Throughout the week, campers will explore mixed-media techniques with local artist/instructor Kerry Molina, while creating multiple finished projects including a hand-bound book, mixed media puppet, collage work, affirmation card deck, painted canvas zipper pouch, watercolor project, and a color-mixing/ stencil experience.  Campers will learn art skills while experimenting with color, texture, layering, and creative problem-solving, all in a fun, supportive studio environment that encourages artistic risk-taking and self-expression.  By the end of the week, each artist will have a collection of unique, handmade artwork and new creative skills to keep using long after camp ends.

Join Art Educator Vick Burns with a week-long morning workshop on Interactive Visual Journaling will take you beyond the basics by examining how to connect one page to the next using contrasting methods and media.  This is great for personal use examining creative expression while building technical skills. Each student will receive a 5.5 x 8.5 mixed media sketchbook as well as a personal kit of supplies for exploration that are interactive and compatible with working in a mixed media sketchbook.  The size of the sketchbook along with a travel bag for supplies makes it perfect for using on summer vacation. Additional materials will be provided for class use as well.
